The Longitudinal Business Database (or LBD) is our core resource for understanding the behaviour and performance of New Zealand firms. It is a collection of administrative and survey data, brought together by Stats NZ in the DataLab.

Using this site
If you have never used the LBD before, then your best place to start is probably Introduction to the LBD
For more details on the constituent datasets of the LBD, including official documentation and copies of the forms used to collect the data, go to Underlying Datasets
Learn what can be done and what has been done using the LBD, including journal articles, working papers and the like by going to Research using the LBD
